General Étienne de Nansouty
Born May 30, 1768 in Bordeaux – Died February 12, 1815 in Paris
Considered as one of the best general cavalry officers, he is appointed by the Emperor in 1812, for the Russian campaign, commander of the 1st cavalry corps of the general reserve of Murat. He is at the head of 12000 cavalrymen when he crosses the Niemen.
