The train service in Napoleon’s army was a military corps made up of units responsible for the logistical transport of supplies, equipment and ammunition that served in the French army during the First Empire, both in the Imperial Guard and in the army of the line.
Previously, these functions were carried out by private means or companies under contract or requisition.
