Marshal LEFEBVRE François-Joseph
Duke of Danzig
Born in Rouffach on October 25, 1755 – Died in Paris on September 14, 1820
It was to the Moselle army, under the orders of Hoche that he was noticed. He distinguished himself in all the battles of the Empire, but was especially known as the husband of “Madame Sans Gêne”.
Napoleon said of him: “A very brave man who does not care about the great movements that take place on his right and left, he only thinks about fighting well. He is not afraid to die.”
