Born in Montpellier on September 20, 1765 – Died in Andrésy on January 7, 1827
The very example of a brave, loyal and daring soldier, General Lepic is the one who will proclaim the famous phrase “High heads, artillery is not shit! “during the battle of Eylau.
It is at the end of this same battle that Lepic will have this memorable exchange by greeting the emperor who thought he had lost him during the fighting:
– I thought you were taken, General, and I was very saddened by it.
– Sire, – replied Lepic- you will never learn only of my death!
