Description
During the Prussian campaign of 1806, Napoleon entrusted Dombrowski with the organization of a Polish army. But to form an army, mainly of cavalry, it was going to require time, money and a lot of material. It was then that the Pospolites were mobilized.
This troop of nobility had been mobilized since the Middle Ages, because every nobleman who owned an estate had the duty to appear in person, armed, mounted and accompanied by a squire, or to be replaced.
Each Pospolite was grouped within his region called Voïvodie.
