Description
Marshal DAVOUT Louis-Nicolas
Duke of Auerstaedt
Prince of Echmühl
“The Undefeated Marshal”
Born in Annoux on May 10, 1770 – Died in Paris on June 1, 1823
A sincere republican, he will remain faithful to the Emperor. Davout distinguished himself in Auerstaedt where, with his three divisions, he defeated half of the Prussian army.
His bad temper often opposed him to the Emperor, who held it against him, but recognized his loyalty.
