Description
During Bonaparte’s Egyptian campaign, once defeated, some of the Mamelukes rallied to him and followed him to France. The Mamelukes then formed a squadron of the Imperial Guard, which was later attached to the regiment of Chasseurs à Cheval.
On December 2, 1805, they charged the Russian Knight Guards at the Battle of Austerlitz and captured many prisoners, among them Prince Repnin.
